Amazon Introduces Lens Live for Real-Time AI Shopping
Amazon has launched Lens Live, an AI-powered tool that enhances its visual search capabilities, allowing users to discover products in real-time using their smartphone cameras. Announced on their website, Lens Live integrates with Amazon's AI shopping assistant, Rufus, to provide product insights and summaries.
Lens Live builds upon the existing Amazon Lens feature, which allows users to take pictures or scan barcodes to find products. The new tool adds a real-time component, enabling users to point their phones at objects in the real world and see matching products in a swipeable carousel. This feature is powered by Amazon SageMaker services and runs on AWS-managed Amazon OpenSearch.
Currently available on the Amazon Shopping app for iOS, Lens Live is accessible to tens of millions of U.S. shoppers, with plans to expand to more users soon. The tool allows users to add items directly to their cart or save them to a wish list, enhancing the shopping experience by making it more interactive and informative.
