AEON360 Partners with Google Cloud to Build AI Shopping Ecosystem in Southeast Asia
AEON360 and Google Cloud have announced a multi-year collaboration to build an AI-powered ecosystem that unifies retail, finance, and lifestyle services across Southeast Asia, according to a press release. The initiative aims to create a frictionless shopping experience by connecting AEON’s various platforms through real-time, intent-driven AI systems.
The partnership will establish the AEON360 Innovation Foundry in Kuala Lumpur to train employees in AI skills and develop agentic commerce solutions. The Foundry will use Google Cloud’s Gemini Enterprise for Customer Experience to deploy AI agents capable of handling shopping, customer service, and support tasks. These agents will operate on AEON360’s unified data foundation, ensuring consistent and context-aware interactions.
AEON360 is also adopting Google’s Universal Commerce Protocol to extend agentic commerce beyond its own platforms. This integration will enable AI agents to function across multiple retail systems, allowing customers to interact with AEON brands directly through Google Search and complete purchases using Google Pay and Wallet. The system will provide personalized offers, real-time product availability, and seamless checkout experiences across online and physical channels.
The collaboration uses Google Cloud’s BigQuery to build a unified data infrastructure that supports these AI agents and enables contextual intelligence across AEON’s ecosystem. The rollout begins in Malaysia, with expansion planned across key Southeast Asian markets.
