Adobe Lightroom Mobile Adds AI Tool to Open Closed Eyes

Oct 20, 2026
Lightroom mobile can now use generative AI to open closed eyes in photos. The tool matches the subject’s appearance using other images in the user’s library when available.

Adobe adds an Open Eyes tool to Lightroom mobile, according to The Verge. The feature is available on iOS, iPadOS, and Android.

When Lightroom detects closed eyes, it displays a Quick Action icon over the photo. A tap uses generative AI to create open eyes that match the lighting and pose. The app can reference other photos of the same person in the user’s Lightroom library to match eye color, size, and shape.

Users of the free Lightroom mobile app can try Open Eyes twice. Further use requires a Creative Cloud plan with credits for AI tools.
