A2A Protocol Marks First Year with 150+ Adopters and Cloud Integrations

The Linux Foundation-hosted A2A Protocol has surpassed 150 supporting organizations and achieved integration across major cloud platforms, announced in a press release. In its first year, the open standard for AI agent interoperability has gained production use in sectors including supply chain, financial services, and IT operations.

The milestone follows the release of A2A version 1.0, which introduced multi-protocol support, enterprise-grade multi-tenancy, and enhanced security features such as Signed Agent Cards for cryptographic identity verification. The update also provided a migration path for early adopters, enabling wider deployment across enterprises.

Cloud providers have embedded A2A directly into their ecosystems, with Microsoft Corporation integrating it into Azure AI Foundry and Copilot Studio, Amazon Web Services adding support via Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Runtime, and Google incorporating it into its cloud offerings. These integrations establish A2A as a default standard for agent-based systems in cloud environments.

The project also introduced the Agent Payments Protocol (AP2) to enable secure, agent-driven transactions, now supported by more than 60 organizations in the financial sector. With over 22,000 GitHub stars and SDKs in five programming languages, A2A is moving from early adoption toward becoming a core element in distributed AI system architectures.
