Zeta Surgical Treats First Patient with Zeta TMS Navigation System at HOPE Therapeutics
Zeta Surgical and HOPE Therapeutics have treated the first patient using the FDA-cleared Zeta TMS Navigation System at a HOPE Therapeutics clinic in Sarasota, announced in a press release. The system has also been installed at the company’s West Palm Beach location, with patient treatments beginning at both sites this week.
Transcranial magnetic stimulation is a noninvasive therapy primarily used for treatment-resistant depression and other neuropsychiatric disorders. The Zeta TMS Navigation System uses proprietary RealTrack technology to provide real time, markerless image guidance for TMS procedures. It applies artificial intelligence and computer vision to align a patient's MRI or CT imaging with their facial anatomy in under two minutes and continuously track the TMS coil position with sub-millimetric accuracy.
At HOPE Therapeutics, the system has been integrated into outpatient workflows for patients receiving TMS therapy for major depressive disorder. Zeta Surgical’s co-founder and chief technology officer Raahil Sha described the start of patient treatments as a milestone in bringing surgical grade accuracy to TMS clinics.
