ZestyAI Surpasses 500 Regulatory Approvals for Insurance Risk Models
ZestyAI says in a press release that its property risk models have received more than 500 regulatory approvals across 317 insurance carrier filings. The approvals cover 44 states and models for wildfire, severe storms, hail, fires unrelated to weather, and water damage unrelated to weather.
Each approval follows a state insurance department review of a ZestyAI model included in a carrier filing. Regulators accepted the models for use in insurance rating or underwriting across personal and commercial property policies.
The company says more than half of the 100 largest United States property and casualty insurers use its models for underwriting, rating, reinsurance, or regulatory work. By assessing individual properties rather than broader geographic averages, ZestyAI says its models can recognize mitigation and align price more closely with risk.
