Velodyne Space has introduced a new Drone Catching System (DCS) designed by David Hall to neutralize drone threats, as announced in a press release.

Velodyne Space has introduced a revolutionary Drone Catching System (DCS) designed by serial inventor David Hall to combat drone threats, announced in a press release. This system, developed over five years, aims to address the increasing risks posed by drones to public safety and security.

The DCS employs a proprietary electromagnetic launch system capable of neutralizing multiple drones at once, a significant advancement over current systems that typically handle only one drone at a time. The system uses AI-powered target identification to detect drones over 1,000 feet away and launches nets to capture them at a rate of five per second. Once captured, the drones are safely brought to the ground using parachutes.

This technology is designed for use in various security applications, including protecting critical infrastructure, airports, and military operations. Velodyne Space is currently accepting orders for the DCS, with deliveries expected to begin in 2026. Velodyne Space continues to innovate in the field of drone defense, building on Hall's legacy of impactful technological advancements.
