The U.S. Navy awarded Applied Intuition a $25 million contract to deploy its Intelligent Perception System on five Arleigh Burke class destroyers.

The U.S. Navy awarded Applied Intuition a $25 million contract to deploy AI sensor fusion on warships, according to Breaking Defense. The initial deployment will cover five destroyers in the Arleigh Burke class, with the system potentially expanding across the fleet.

The Intelligent Perception System combines feeds from cameras and infrared sensors into a single view for sailors. It can also issue automated alerts when another vessel approaches on a possible collision course.

The system records sensor data and can send it to shore when bandwidth and security conditions permit. The data can support training for updated AI models used by crewed and uncrewed vessels. Ships can also receive software updates while at sea rather than waiting for maintenance in port.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?

Tensordyne

This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
