URAC Develops Health Care AI Accreditation
URAC, a leading health care accreditor, has announced the development of a new Health Care AI Accreditation, announced in a press release. This initiative aims to provide organizations with guidance on the responsible and effective implementation of AI in health care settings. The accreditation will serve as an audit that organizations can earn, reinforcing their commitment to the appropriate use of AI.
URAC is inviting health care leaders, AI experts, policymakers, and other stakeholders to join the Health Care AI Advisory Committee. This committee will contribute to the development of accreditation standards, focusing on areas such as risk management, consumer protection, and clinical care. The committee's registration is open until March 14, 2025.
The accreditation is set to launch in the fourth quarter of 2025, allowing health care organizations to demonstrate their commitment to responsible AI usage. URAC is collaborating with members of the CTeL Blue Ribbon Collaborative, including representatives from Harvard Medical School and Yale University, as well as technology leaders like Amazon, to shape these standards.
