Twitch Lets Streamers Opt Out of Amazon AI Training
Twitch has added a setting that lets creators opt out of having channel content used to train generative AI content models across Amazon, Twitch Support said in a post on X. Creators are included by default unless they turn the setting off.
The change applies to channel content, including stream recordings. Some creators raised concerns because Twitch streams can include many hours of video and voice content.
During a stream on the official Twitch channel, Chief Product Officer Mike Minton said the company chose an opt out model because an opt in model would likely receive few signups. Head of Community Mary Kish said the setting was added in response to creator concerns about generative AI training.
Creators can turn off the setting from channel settings. They need to open the security and privacy tab, find the training for generative AI option, and toggle it off.
