Turner Construction Picks innDex for UN Plaza Site Access Control

Turner Construction appointed innDex as its main technology partner for site access control and workforce management on the One and Two UN Plaza renovation in New York. The system uses facial recognition turnstiles, credential checks, live headcounts, and workforce reporting.

Turner Construction has appointed innDex as its main technology partner for site access control and workforce management on the One and Two UN Plaza renovation, the companies announced in a press release. The project is being run by Turner’s New York interiors group for the United Nations Development Corporation, with both towers remaining occupied during construction.

innDex configured facial recognition turnstiles at the dedicated union entrance, replacing printed badges and manual sign ins. The platform also checks worker details against government IDs, flags Site Safety Training cards that are near expiry, and blocks access when a card has lapsed.

Turner said the system now provides live headcounts, supervisor and first aider ratios, evacuation data, and workforce diversity reporting. The project has been underway since 2023, with completion trending toward 2029.
