Thinkfree Launches Document Editing SDK for AI Apps

Thinkfree launches Document Editor SDK, a developer product family that combines embedded Office document editing with document structure APIs, the company said in a press release. The software lets applications edit paragraphs, tables, cells, images and slides instead of treating documents as plain text.

The family includes Editor SDK for adding word processor, spreadsheet and presentation editors to web applications. It supports Microsoft Office files and other major document formats. Editor AI SDK connects a developer's chosen language model to the same editing tools, with options to validate and authorize each tool call before applying changes.

Customers can deploy the software in their own environment or connect to a Thinkfree managed environment through APIs. Thinkfree also opened a developer portal with documentation, a console and a playground for testing document workflows. The company plans to release Document Management SDK in October with APIs for storage, version management and access control.
