The Path Raises $14.3 Million to Expand AI Therapy Platform
The Path, an AI therapy platform focused on proactive mental health care, has raised 14.3 million dollars in seed funding led by Prime Movers Lab, announced in a press release. Investors include Tony Robbins, Apolo Anton Ohno, Deontay Wilder, and Designer Fund.
The company was co-founded by Robbins, Anson Whitmer, and Tyler Sheaffer. Whitmer previously led data science and AI at Calm, while Sheaffer founded Calm's engineering team. The Path, formerly known as Mental, offers AI therapy tools that help users build emotional resilience and manage daily mental health challenges.
The platform uses multiple foundational models designed for therapy and coaching, guided by clinical expertise. It personalizes programs based on user needs, delivering tailored interventions, training, and homework between live sessions. The Path also includes safety features that connect users in crisis to hotlines and human therapists.
The company reported that its safety benchmark score reached 95, compared with 65 for leading general AI models. The Path plans to use the new funding to expand its team, scale the platform, and pursue clinical research. The app is available on iOS, Android, and at thepath.ai.
