Stryker Completes First Surgery Using SportSuite Vision on Apple Vision Pro

Stryker announced in a press release that surgeons completed the first hip arthroscopy using SportSuite Vision on Apple Vision Pro at a leading academic medical center. The company said it received FDA De Novo authorization for SportSuite Vision, which it described as the first surgical application authorized for intraoperative use with Apple Vision Pro.

SportSuite Vision brings arthroscopic video, HipCheck, HipMap and CT imaging into a customizable spatial computing environment. The system lets surgeons view physical objects in the operating room alongside digital surgical information.

Stryker said the application can reduce the need to look at multiple displays placed around the operating room during arthroscopic procedures. Chad Mather III, an orthopedic surgeon at Duke Health, performed the first case using the system.
