Short Shorts Film Festival Plans Generative AI Showcase for November

Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia will present generative AI film programs during its autumn event in Tokyo and online in November.

Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia will present generative AI film programs during its autumn screenings, it announced in a press release. The physical festival will run in Tokyo from November 5 to 8, followed by worldwide online streaming from November 9 to 22.

The CapCut AI Film Program will feature films created with AI tools. TOKYO STORIES_season2 will show AI generated shorts about Tokyo from 30 creators, while Ryuta Miyake of The Complex will join a panel on AI narrative filmmaking. The festival is working with CapCut, TYO and TOPVIEW JAPAN on the programs.

The wider event will screen more than 50 short films across six programs. Venues include the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography and kino cinéma Shinjuku, with online access available through the Online Grand Theater on LIFE LOG BOX.
