Shield AI and Thunder Tiger Partner to Integrate Hivemind Autonomy in Taiwan
Shield AI and Thunder Tiger Corp have signed a memorandum of understanding to integrate Shield AI's Hivemind autonomy software across Thunder Tiger's unmanned systems portfolio, announced in a press release. The collaboration will begin with unmanned surface vessels, with a live demonstration planned for this summer in Taiwan.
Hivemind will act as the AI pilot for Thunder Tiger's unmanned surface vessel, enabling autonomous navigation, response, and mission execution at sea. The agreement outlines a phased integration process that includes simulation testing, hardware integration, and live vehicle trials to validate coordinated operation among multiple autonomous systems.
Thunder Tiger's unmanned platforms are designed for coastal defense and multi-domain missions. By integrating Hivemind, these systems will be able to make independent decisions and operate as part of coordinated teams. The partnership also supports Taiwan's efforts to strengthen its autonomous defense capabilities and expand its industrial base for unmanned systems.
Shield AI's Hivemind software enables vehicles to sense, decide, and act without remote control or GPS, and has been deployed across various aerial and ground platforms. The collaboration builds on Shield AI's existing presence in Taiwan, including its Taipei office, and continues its strategy of supporting local defense industries with AI enabled autonomy.
