September 10, 2025
Semtech Corporation has announced new FiberEdge transimpedance amplifiers (TIAs) designed to enhance power efficiency in AI data centers, according to a press release. The GN1834D and GN1818 models aim to support the growing demand for 1.6T optical interconnects.

Semtech Corporation has announced two new FiberEdge transimpedance amplifiers (TIAs) designed to address power efficiency challenges in AI infrastructure scaling, announced in a press release. The GN1834D and GN1818 models are part of Semtech's efforts to support the growing demand for 1.6T optical interconnects in data centers.

The GN1834D expands Semtech's 200G TIA portfolio, enabling 8x200G optical modules for 1.6T applications. This model uses advanced 200G per channel performance and innovative 2.5D mounting technology to provide the necessary analog performance for next-generation AI cluster connectivity.

Meanwhile, the GN1818 offers up to 20% power reduction, optimizing power efficiency for operators extending their 800G infrastructure investments. This model maintains high-performance standards while reducing power consumption, making it a strategic choice for existing deployments preparing for 1.6T migration.

Both TIAs are available for sampling, and Semtech will showcase its optical solutions portfolio at CIOE 2025 in Shenzhen, China.
