Runwise Secures $55M to Expand Smart Building Platform
Runwise has announced a $55 million Series B funding round, announced in a press release. The round was led by Menlo Ventures, with participation from new investors including MassMutual Ventures, Nuveen Real Estate, Multiplier Capital, and Munich Re Ventures, alongside returning backers such as Soma Capital and Fifth Wall.
The fresh capital will be used to support product innovation, team expansion, and entry into new core markets. This funding brings Runwise's total funding to $79 million. The company, which operates a smart operating system for buildings, is installed in over 10,000 buildings across the U.S., serving more than 1,000 customers.
Runwise's platform combines proprietary hardware, wireless connectivity, and cloud-based software to automate and optimize building operations. The company claims that its system can be installed rapidly, with a typical payback period of under five months, and has already saved customers over $100 million in energy costs.
