Rokid Raises $2.58 Million in Record Japan Crowdfunding for AI Glasses
Rokid has raised more than 2.58 million dollars from over 5,000 backers on Japan's Makuake crowdfunding platform for its Rokid Glasses, becoming the most successful AI glasses campaign in the platform's history, announced in a press release.
The campaign reached 636,000 dollars in its first 12 hours and 1.27 million dollars within 10 days. Following this success, Rokid is expanding its presence in global markets. In April, the company launched the Rokid Glasses and Rokid Ai Glasses Neo in Germany, supported by a new regional e-commerce site and media outreach at Hannover Messe 2026.
Earlier in the same month, Rokid introduced the Rokid Glasses in Indonesia, naming PT Denka Pratama Indonesia as its official distributor. The launch event included representatives from TikTok, Blibli, Shopee, and Indonesia's Office of the Vice President.
Rokid's Open AI Ecosystem allows its glasses to support multiple large language models without platform lock-in. The company reports more than 30,000 registered developers and ongoing collaborations with institutions including MIT, Stanford University, and the University of Tokyo. Its products are available through the Rokid global store and Amazon.
