RIVANNA has secured an $800,000 grant from the Virginia Catalyst Program to advance its AI-enabled ultrasound platform, Accuro 3S, for neuraxial anesthesia. Announced in a press release, the funding will support the finalization and clinical validation of advanced features, including a Dual-Array ultrasound probe and the SpineNav-AI machine learning algorithm.

The project is a collaboration with the University of Virginia and Virginia Commonwealth University, aiming to improve precision and outcomes in neuraxial procedures. The grant is matched by $1.6 million from undisclosed sources, emphasizing the initiative's potential impact on patient safety and provider efficiency. Commercialization of the Accuro 3S is expected to begin in late 2025.
