Ribbon Introduces Call Trust for Voice Deepfake Detection
Ribbon Communications has introduced Ribbon Call Trust Deepfake Detection, a network-based service that detects AI-generated synthetic audio in calls, the company said. Customer lab trials are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2027.
The service analyses call streams through Ribbon's Session Border Controllers using patent-pending detection algorithms. Ribbon says it can identify individual synthetic segments inserted into an otherwise legitimate call, even after audio has passed through multiple codecs or networks, and protects all endpoints without users installing an app. Detection data can be shared with third-party security systems.
It is aimed at service providers, enterprises and government agencies, as voice imitation attacks grow. Ribbon cited CrowdStrike data that vishing intrusions doubled in the first half of 2026 compared with the second half of 2025.
