Relativity Networks and Prysmian Partner for Advanced Fiber-Optic Production
Relativity Networks and Prysmian have announced a strategic partnership to produce next-generation hollow-core fiber-optic cables, as stated in a press release. This collaboration aims to meet the increasing demand for high-speed data transmission required by data centers in the AI economy.
The partnership will focus on the high-volume production of hollow-core optical fiber and cable, leveraging Relativity Networks' patent-pending technology and Prysmian's manufacturing expertise. This technology allows data to be transmitted nearly 50% faster and over longer distances compared to traditional fiber-optic cables, addressing latency issues that can affect multi-location data operations.
Prysmian will manufacture the hollow-core fiber at its facility in Eindhoven, Netherlands, ensuring the capability to meet global demand. This collaboration is expected to provide significant benefits to hyperscalers and data center operators by enabling data centers to be located closer to power sources, whether conventional or green-energy providers.
