Raptive Survey Finds Familiar Sources Nearly Double Trust in AI Answers

Oct 14, 2026
A Raptive survey found that trust in AI answers rose from about 42% without a familiar source to more than 75% when a trusted creator, expert or publisher was identified.

Raptive said in a press release that consumer trust in an AI answer rose from 42% when no source was shown to 75.4% when it cited a familiar creator or expert. Trust reached 77.2% when the answer cited a trusted publisher or media brand, while an unfamiliar source produced a 41.8% trust rate.

The survey found that 74% of respondents considered knowing the source behind an AI answer extremely or very important. Citations would make 59% more likely to trust an answer, while 41% said multiple sources would increase trust.

Among respondents who check AI answers, 76% use Google or another search engine. When an answer conflicted with a trusted publisher, creator or expert, 19% favored the AI answer, 33% chose the trusted source and 37% investigated further.

Raptive surveyed 3,083 US consumers in September 2026. The results reflect responses to questions and source scenarios rather than observed behavior. Raptive partners with creators and premium media companies and sells advertising across their sites, so it has a commercial interest in AI answers crediting human sources.

This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
