Protiviti's 2026 Global Finance Trends Survey found AI adoption for financial forecasting rose from 58% to 76% year over year, while only 35% of finance organizations say they can measure AI ROI effectively.

Protiviti said in a press release that AI adoption for financial forecasting among finance organizations rose from 58% to 76% year over year. The finding comes from the firm's 2026 Global Finance Trends Survey, which covers how CFOs and finance teams are using AI in finance operations.

Among finance organizations using AI, financial forecasting is the leading use case. Other common areas include scenario planning, risk assessment and management, and process automation.

The survey found that 77% of finance organizations now employ AI, but only 35% say they are effective at measuring AI ROI. Security and data privacy remained the top priority for finance leaders to address over the next year.
