About 15 demonstrators protested outside the London office of Wayve, calling for autonomous taxi trials in the city to stop, according to the BBC. Wayve is testing vehicles in London with human safety operators on board.

Members of the App Drivers and Couriers Union, Fare Free London and the GMB union raised concerns about job losses, congestion and safety. Protesters called on Transport for London to suspend licences for autonomous vehicles until it provides more details about how the technology will be introduced.

Wayve said it is taking a phased approach with Uber and is working with Transport for London on future passenger services. Transport for London said automated passenger services can operate in the city only with its consent.
