Pony.ai Secures Robotaxi Testing Permit in Luxembourg
Pony.ai Europe has secured a scientific testing permit for Level 4 autonomous driving from Luxembourg's Ministry of Mobility and Public Works, announced in a press release. This authorization allows the company to expand its global testing portfolio, which already includes permits in China, the United States, and South Korea.
The permit enables Pony.ai to commence on-road testing in collaboration with Emile Weber, a leading mobility solutions provider in Luxembourg. This partnership aims to integrate self-driving technologies into Luxembourg's next-generation transportation network. The initiative follows Pony.ai's establishment of Luxembourg as a European hub for research, development, and deployment of autonomous driving technologies.
Dr. James Peng, Co-founder and CEO of Pony.ai, expressed the company's commitment to making Luxembourg a leading destination for autonomous mobility in Europe. The collaboration with Emile Weber is expected to leverage the latter's expertise in delivering integrated mobility solutions across various sectors, including public transit and private transportation.
