Ping An's EagleX Platform Mitigates Beijing Hailstorm Impact

Ping An's AI-powered EagleX platform issued early warnings for a severe hailstorm in Beijing, helping to minimize property damage and streamline claims settlement.

Ping An Insurance has effectively utilized its AI-powered EagleX Risk Mitigation Platform to issue early warnings for a severe hailstorm that struck Beijing on May 13, 2025. Announced in a press release, the platform alerted customers two hours before the storm, which helped in reducing potential losses.

The EagleX system, which integrates technologies like big data and machine learning, sent warnings and safety tips to over 3.17 million individual customers and 20,000 corporate clients. This proactive approach allowed many to secure their properties and vehicles in time.

In response to the storm, Ping An P&C mobilized over 2,000 personnel and dispatched 43 claims experts to assist with disaster relief. As of May 19, the company had received 31,000 claims reports, settled 10,400 cases, and paid out RMB62.15 million in compensation.

Ping An P&C also streamlined its claims settlement process, waiving the need for proof of accident or weather event and offering free rescue services. For damages under RMB10,000, photo or video evidence suffices for claims settlement, ensuring a swift response to customer needs.
