Pay-i Secures $4.9 Million to Measure AI ROI

Seattle-based startup Pay-i, founded by former Microsoft executives, has raised $4.9 million to help businesses quantify the ROI of generative AI initiatives.

Pay-i, a Seattle startup founded by former Microsoft executives, has raised $4.9 million in a seed funding round to help businesses determine the return on investment (ROI) of their generative AI initiatives. The funding was co-led by FUSE and Tola Capital, with participation from other investors including Firestreak, Pear VC, and Gaia Capital.

Pay-i has developed software that integrates usage data from generative AI tools with key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide real-time insights into the ROI of different AI models and design choices. This approach aims to automate the process of linking AI usage to business outcomes, offering a clear view of which AI use cases generate value.

The startup is led by CEO David Tepper, who spent 19 years at Microsoft, and CTO Doron Holan, who was with Microsoft for 27 years. The company currently employs nine people and projects over $2 million in annual recurring revenue by the end of 2026 based on existing partnerships.
