OpenAI has added its Codex tool to the ChatGPT mobile app, announced on its website. The update, now in preview, allows users to monitor and manage Codex activity from iOS and Android devices across all plan tiers.

Users can connect to any machines where Codex is operating, view live environments, review outputs, approve commands, and start new tasks directly from their phones. The mobile version mirrors the desktop experience, keeping session data synced through a secure relay layer that connects trusted devices without exposing them to the public internet.

Codex mobile access supports real time updates such as screenshots, terminal output, and test results. It also works with Remote SSH for managed development environments and includes support for enterprise features like programmatic access tokens, hooks, and HIPAA compliant use in local setups.

This preview release extends Codex availability beyond desktop and web, letting users stay connected to ongoing development work from anywhere.
