OpenAI and Allied for Startups Release Hacktivate AI Report to Boost AI Adoption in Europe
OpenAI and Allied for Startups have released the Hacktivate AI report, a collection of 20 proposals aimed at accelerating AI adoption across Europe. This announcement comes just before the European Commission is set to unveil its Apply AI Strategy, which aims to promote AI use in business and public sectors according to OpenAI.
The Hacktivate AI report is the result of a policy hackathon held in Brussels, where 65 participants, including representatives from EU institutions, national governments, and various enterprises, collaborated to generate practical ideas for enhancing AI uptake. The report suggests initiatives such as an Individual AI Learning Account and an AI Champions Network to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
OpenAI's EU AI Policy Lead, Martin Signoux, emphasized the need for meaningful interventions to bridge the gap between Europe's AI ambitions and reality. The report aligns with OpenAI's broader efforts in Europe, including the EU Economic Blueprint and the General-Purpose AI Code of Practice, to support AI innovators and entrepreneurs across the continent.
