OMRON Healthcare Donates Blood Pressure Monitors with AI AFib Detection

OMRON Healthcare has announced the donation of 4,000 blood pressure monitors equipped with AI-based Intellisense AFib technology to May Measurement Month, enhancing atrial fibrillation screening.

OMRON Healthcare has announced in a press release the donation of 4,000 blood pressure monitors to May Measurement Month (MMM), an initiative aimed at raising awareness about blood pressure monitoring. These devices are equipped with the new AI-based Intellisense AFib technology, which can detect possible atrial fibrillation (AFib) with each measurement.

The donation is part of OMRON Healthcare's ongoing commitment to MMM, which it has supported since 2017. Over the years, the company has donated approximately 30,000 blood pressure monitors across 100 countries. This year's contribution includes monitors with integrated ECG technology, further aiding in the early detection of AFib, a condition that significantly increases the risk of stroke.

The MMM event, running from May 1 to July 31, will provide hands-on blood pressure measurements and advice on managing blood pressure through diet. In some regions, participants will also have the opportunity to assess their AFib risk through these advanced monitors. The initiative aims to educate hypertensive patients on the importance of regular monitoring to manage hypertension effectively and reduce the risk of serious cardiovascular complications.
