Nvidia and xAI Join AI Infrastructure Partnership with Microsoft and BlackRock
Nvidia and xAI have joined forces with a consortium that includes Microsoft, BlackRock, and MGX to enhance AI infrastructure in the United States. This collaboration, announced in a press release, aims to invest over $30 billion in AI-related projects, focusing on data centers and energy facilities needed for AI applications.
The consortium, now named the AI Infrastructure Partnership (AIP), was formed last year and has already attracted significant capital and partner interest. The group plans to mobilize up to $100 billion, including debt financing, to support the development of AI-ready data centers and power solutions. Global Infrastructure Partners, a part of BlackRock, is also involved in this initiative.
Nvidia will continue as a technical advisor, leveraging its expertise in accelerated computing and AI factories. The partnership will also see collaboration with GE Vernova and NextEra Energy to accelerate the scaling of energy solutions for AI data centers. The investments will primarily focus on the U.S. and OECD countries, driving AI innovation and economic growth.
