New Era Energy & Digital has signed a strategic agreement with Thunderhead Energy Solutions to develop a 250 MW power infrastructure for a planned AI data center campus in Ector County, Texas. This was announced in a press release by New Era Energy & Digital.

The agreement involves the installation of a gas-fired generation capacity using a hybrid deployment of reciprocating engines and turbines. Thunderhead will finance, construct, and operate this power infrastructure, which is expected to begin construction later this year and be completed over the next 18 months.

This power setup will serve as the energy backbone for Texas Critical Data Centers LLC (TCDC), a joint venture between New Era Energy & Digital and Sharon AI, providing robust, AI-optimized compute capabilities. The project aims to leverage the region's natural gas resources to support the growing demand for digital infrastructure.
