Modal Adds Nvidia Vera CPUs for AI Agents
Modal Labs plans to deploy Vera central processors from NVIDIA for AI agents, according to Reuters. The cloud computing startup currently runs these workloads on Intel and AMD processors.
Modal said early tests showed Vera doubled the amount of work its AI agents could complete compared with Intel and AMD chips currently on the market. Supporting Vera will require software changes to its platform.
The company will operate Vera alongside Intel and AMD processors, assigning jobs to the hardware that performs best. Nvidia expects at least $20 billion in Vera sales during its current fiscal year.
