MinIO has announced new integrations for its AIStor platform to support the NVIDIA AI ecosystem, enhancing AI storage capabilities at a multi-exabyte scale. Announced in a press release, these advancements were unveiled at NVIDIA GTC and include support for NVIDIA GPUDirect Storage (GDS), native integration with NVIDIA BlueField-3, and incorporation of NVIDIA NIM microservices.

The integration with NVIDIA GPUDirect Storage allows AIStor to bypass the traditional data path through the CPU, significantly increasing CPU efficiency and reducing infrastructure costs. This is achieved by establishing a direct data path between MinIO AIStor and NVIDIA GPU memory, optimizing AI data processing.

Additionally, AIStor's native integration with NVIDIA BlueField-3 networking platform reduces the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for object storage while maintaining high performance. This integration allows AIStor to run natively on NVIDIA's BlueField-3 Data Processing Unit (DPU), eliminating the need for separate x64 CPUs.

Furthermore, the incorporation of NVIDIA NIM microservices into AIStor simplifies the deployment and management of inference infrastructure, enabling faster inference via model optimizations for NVIDIA hardware. These features are currently available to beta customers under private preview, with a full release aligned with NVIDIA's general availability calendar.
