Maven Pet launches Companion, an AI pet assistant that uses data from its dog collar sensor, the company announced in a press release. The assistant is available through the Maven Pet app for all subscribers.

Companion analyzes heart rate, respiratory rate, sleep, activity and behavior, along with the dog's profile and information logged by its owner. Maven Pet says the sensor can collect up to 25 million data points per dog each day and compare changes with the dog's usual patterns.

The assistant can answer questions about an individual dog and send alerts when it detects changes in metrics or behavior. An annual subscription costs $167.92 and includes the sensor hardware.
