Matillion Releases Maia Foundation for Google BigQuery
Matillion announced in a press release the general availability of Maia Foundation on Google BigQuery. This extension allows BigQuery customers to run data pipelines on Maia, pushing transformations directly into BigQuery. The addition brings BigQuery in line with Snowflake, Databricks, and Amazon Redshift as fully supported Maia execution targets.
Maia operates in three layers. Maia Team authors pipelines using autonomous AI agents that convert business intent and source data structures into data orchestration logic. Maia Context Engine manages schema changes, lineage, and governance rules. Maia Foundation executes these transformations inside the data warehouse. When schema modifications occur, Maia automatically updates dependencies, regenerates lineage, and submits the changes for engineer review.
The company supports migration from existing Matillion ETL for BigQuery deployments to Maia Foundation through a guided process. Customers may deploy Maia Foundation as a hybrid agent in their environments or as a SaaS service via Matillion Hub. The product is available immediately.
