Mapmygenome Acquires Microbiome Insights to Expand Genomics Services

Mapmygenome has acquired Microbiome Insights, enhancing its capabilities in microbial sequencing and expanding its presence in North America.

Mapmygenome has announced the strategic acquisition of Microbiome Insights, a leader in microbial sequencing, announced in a press release. This acquisition includes Microbiome Insights' CAP-accredited laboratory in Canada and its extensive intellectual property, which will bolster Mapmygenome's scientific capabilities and support its global expansion.

Microbiome Insights, known for supporting over 600 global clients with more than 1,000 microbiome studies, will continue to operate as a premier contract research organization (CRO). This move allows Mapmygenome to introduce its integrated genomics and microbiome testing services to North America, making comprehensive health solutions more accessible.

Anu Acharya, Founder and CEO of Mapmygenome, highlighted the importance of the human microbiome in health, stating that the acquisition positions the company as a leader in this field. The integration of expertise in metagenomics, transcriptomics, and targeted metabolomics will serve academic, biotech, and clinical sectors, aligning with Mapmygenome's strategic vision for growth through targeted acquisitions.
