Lightwave Logic and Polariton Partner for High-Speed Optical Links

Lightwave Logic and Polariton Technologies have expanded their technical partnership to accelerate the introduction of 400Gb/s per lane optical links for AI and data centers, announced in a press release. This collaboration aims to combine plasmonics and electro-optic polymers to overcome the limitations of traditional materials used in high-speed modulators.

The partnership will focus on developing technical solutions that integrate Lightwave Logic's electro-optic polymer materials with Polariton's plasmonic circuits. This integration is expected to address bandwidth and form factor bottlenecks, enabling applications in next-generation AI clusters and optical networking links. The collaboration targets achieving modulation frequencies of up to 800 GHz in the future.

Lightwave Logic and Polariton will work on manufacturing transmitter photonic integrated circuits (PICs) with superior electro-optic performance, alongside an extensive qualification and reliability program. The partnership also includes high-speed RF and optical testing and back-end manufacturing process integration, aiming to deliver 400 Gb/s per lane and scale to 800 Gb/s per lane.
