Leica Biosystems to Acquire StatLab Medical Products
Leica Biosystems has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire StatLab Medical Products, announced in a press release. StatLab is a developer and manufacturer of anatomical pathology products that support laboratories across specimen collection, tissue processing, and slide preparation.
Following the completion of the transaction, StatLab will become part of Leica Biosystems. The acquisition aims to combine StatLab’s product portfolio with Leica Biosystems’ expertise in pathology and diagnostics supported by AI. The companies stated that their combined capabilities will help laboratories improve consistency, standardization, and diagnostic quality.
The deal is expected to close by the end of 2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
