Dutch WaterTech startup HULO has secured €2.3 million in seed funding to accelerate its AI-powered leak detection technology, led by VP Capital and LUMO Labs with participation from Vanagon, Rabobank, FOM, and the Netherlands Enabling Water Technology fund.

HULO, a Dutch WaterTech startup focused on AI-driven leak detection, has raised €2.3 million in seed funding to accelerate its global expansion, announced in a press release. The round was led by VP Capital and LUMO Labs, with participation from Vanagon, Rabobank, FOM, and the Netherlands Enabling Water Technology fund.

HULO’s SaaS platform uses pressure and flow data from existing water utility systems to identify and localize leaks without requiring new hardware or network segmentation. The system combines AI and physics-based models to analyze network behavior and provide actionable insights for operators.

The startup plans to use the new funding to expand in key markets across Europe and Latin America and to strengthen its AI, analytics, and cybersecurity capabilities. HULO’s approach enables utilities to detect and respond to leaks more efficiently, addressing the roughly 30% of treated water lost globally through aging infrastructure.
