Hugging Face Releases Llama Windows for Local AI Models

Llama Windows lets Windows 11 users download and run AI models locally through a desktop interface, without a terminal, build process, or administrator rights.

Hugging Face released Llama Windows, a free open source desktop app for running AI models locally on Windows 11, according to Thurrott. The app lets users select models from the Hugging Face Hub, download them in one click, and run them without a terminal, build process, or administrator rights.

Llama Windows uses the llama.cpp local inference library and recommends models suited to the computer's hardware. It launches with native support for Windows 11 on Arm and the Nvidia RTX Spark platform.

The app runs from the Windows notification area, where users can browse installed models through a small window. An AI assistant style interface is also available with the Alt + Space shortcut. Hugging Face built the app with WinUI 3 and included .NET libraries for the llama.cpp server, Hugging Face Hub client, and model catalog.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?

Tensordyne

This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
