Huawei Unveils AI Data Center Solutions at Shanghai Summit
Huawei has introduced new AI data center solutions at the Huawei Connect 2025 event in Shanghai, announced in a press release. The event, which also featured the Data Center Infrastructure Summit, gathered over 500 industry leaders to discuss advancements in green and low-carbon digital infrastructure.
Bob He, Vice President of Huawei Digital Power, highlighted the importance of AI data centers (DCs) in transforming infrastructure into "computing factories". He emphasized the need for efficient power transmission and innovative power supply architecture to meet the growing demands of AI computing power. Huawei plans to intensify research and development in power supply, thermal management, and infrastructure to support the construction of reliable and sustainable AI DCs.
Steve Kim, President of Data Center Facility & Critical Power Marketing, Sales and Services at Huawei Digital Power, noted that AI foundation models are accelerating the intelligent transformation of industries. He predicted that the scale of new AI DCs could reach 112 GW in the next five years. To address challenges in safety, delivery, IT evolution, and energy consumption, Huawei has proposed the AI DC construction guideline RAS.
During the summit, Huawei released the AIDC Facility Reference Design White Paper, which provides guidance for the standardized design and construction of AI DCs. The white paper addresses challenges such as cooling, power supply, and load-bearing capacity, offering design solutions across key dimensions. Huawei's ongoing innovations aim to build a robust foundation for intelligent computing, enabling more computing power per watt and fostering industry collaboration for a greener future.
