Home Depot has appointed Dr. Franziska Bell as executive vice president and chief technology officer, effective April 6, announced in a press release. Bell will lead the company’s technology, product management, data, and artificial intelligence strategies.

Before joining Home Depot, Bell served as chief data, AI, and analytics officer at Ford Motor Company, where she led AI transformation initiatives. She previously held senior technology roles at BP, Uber, and Toyota.

As CTO, Bell will oversee the integration of AI and machine learning across Home Depot’s operations. The company said her focus will be on creating a more interconnected and data-driven experience for associates, DIY customers, and professional contractors.

Home Depot operates over 2,300 retail stores and employs more than 470,000 people across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
