Oct 22, 2026
Gartner forecasts worldwide IT spending will rise 15% to $7.35 trillion in 2027, led by demand for AI infrastructure, cloud platforms and software.

Gartner said in a press release that worldwide IT spending will rise 15% to $7.35 trillion in 2027, from $6.39 trillion in 2026. The firm expects spending on AI infrastructure, cloud platforms and software to support the increase.

Data center systems spending is forecast to grow 55.5% to $1.37 trillion in 2027. Software spending is expected to rise 14.6% to $1.68 trillion, while infrastructure as a service spending is projected to increase 25.7% to $367 billion.

Gartner said demand from data center systems caused memory prices to more than double during the past 12 months. It expects higher memory costs to persist through 2027, raising prices across storage, servers, networking equipment, PCs and other devices.
