Gardin Agritech Secures $4.5M to Enhance AI-Driven Crop Monitoring

Gardin Agritech has raised $4.5 million in a Seed 2 financing round to advance its AI platform for real-time crop health monitoring, announced in a press release.

Gardin Agritech has raised $4.5 million in a Seed 2 financing round led by Navus Ventures, with participation from new investor Oxford Innovation Finance and existing investors. Announced in a press release, the funding will be used to enhance Gardin's AI platform and expand its commercial team.

Gardin's technology employs a novel optical photosynthesis sensor and AI to measure crop photosynthesis in real time, providing growers with early insights into plant health. This allows for targeted interventions, improving yields and resource efficiency. Since its commercial launch in June 2023, the sensors have been deployed in various environments, including greenhouses in the Netherlands and Canada, and have been used on over 20 crop species.

The company aims to further optimize light and energy use, with trials indicating potential energy savings of 20-30%. This technology not only aids in improving crop quality but also supports research into more resilient seed varieties, contributing to a sustainable food supply.
