France Hosts Global AI Action Summit, Aims for AI Leadership
France recently hosted the Global AI Action Summit at the Grand Palais in Paris, gathering representatives from nearly 100 countries, including heads of state, international organizations, and industry leaders. The summit, held on February 10 and 11, 2025, was part of a broader AI Action Week, which included scientific conferences and cultural events organized by the French Ministry of Culture.
During the summit, France outlined its ambition to become the third leading power in artificial intelligence, following the United States and China. President Emmanuel Macron announced a significant investment of 109 billion euros in AI, with contributions from major companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, and BlackRock. The summit also emphasized the importance of global AI governance and collaboration, co-chaired by France and India.
