Elix, Inc. and Tohoku University have entered a joint research agreement to advance drug discovery using AI technologies, focusing on developing compounds for challenging protein targets.

Elix, Inc. and Tohoku University have announced a joint research agreement aimed at advancing drug discovery through AI technologies. This collaboration seeks to address the challenges of traditional drug discovery, which often involves high costs and low success rates.

The partnership will leverage Elix's AI capabilities in molecular design and property prediction to enhance the efficiency of drug discovery. Elix's platform, Elix Discovery™, offers tools for optimizing molecular design and supports both ligand-based and structure-based drug design.

Tohoku University's Laboratory of Bioactive Molecules, led by Professor Minoru Ishikawa, will contribute its expertise in targeted protein degradation (TPD) research. The collaboration aims to develop compounds that act on critical cellular targets, potentially leading to new therapeutic strategies for diseases that are difficult to treat with current methods.

This joint effort is expected to accelerate the discovery of innovative drug candidates by combining Elix's AI technologies with Tohoku University's research in small-molecule drug discovery and chemical biology.
