Elea Data Centers Secures Landmark Petrobras Contract for São Paulo Facility
Elea Data Centers has been awarded a significant contract to construct a 30 megavolt-amperes (MVA) data center for Petrobras in São Paulo, announced in a press release. The R$2.3 billion (approximately US$0.5 billion) agreement is the largest IT infrastructure contract ever awarded in Latin America.
The new facility will be located at Elea's São Bernardo do Campo campus and will feature advanced liquid cooling technology to support Petrobras' supercomputers and AI workloads. The data center will be powered entirely by renewable energy, aligning with Petrobras' sustainability goals.
This project further establishes Elea's leadership in sustainable digital infrastructure, following other initiatives like the Rio AI City. The São Paulo data center will play a crucial role in processing critical scientific data for Petrobras' exploration and research operations.
