Deutsche Telekom and Google Cloud Develop AI for Autonomous Networks

Deutsche Telekom and Google Cloud have partnered to enhance Radio Access Network (RAN) operations using AI agents, as announced in a press release. The collaboration aims to improve network reliability and customer experience.

Deutsche Telekom and Google Cloud have announced a partnership to enhance Radio Access Network (RAN) operations through the development of an AI agent, as announced in a press release. The AI agent, built using Google Cloud's Gemini 2.0 in Vertex AI, is designed to analyze network behavior, detect performance issues, and implement corrective actions to improve network reliability and customer experience.

The RAN Guardian agent leverages large language models and advanced reasoning frameworks to autonomously manage network operations. It can detect network anomalies and execute self-healing actions, optimizing RAN performance. This approach addresses the limitations of traditional rule-based automation in managing the complexities of modern telecom networks.

The AI agent utilizes Google Cloud technologies such as CloudRun, BigQuery, and Firestore to deliver autonomous RAN performance monitoring, AI-driven issue classification, and proactive network optimization. This collaboration aims to unlock a new level of intelligence and automation in RAN operations, paving the way for autonomous, self-healing networks.
